Severn Valley School of Dance was established in Bridgnorth (Shropshire) and Kinver (West Midlands) in 1996 by Miss Jo Jackson. Over the years it has grown from a small school offering various classes in dance to a thriving dance school with an excellent reputation.

We have 200+ students of all abilities from two and a half years old to 70+, all enjoying and participating in weekly classes.

In 2013 we relocated our Bridgnorth classes to our own purpose built dance studio, which is equipped with a fully sprung Harlequin topped dance floor, ballet barres, and mirrors as well as comfortable waiting and changing rooms, kitchen area and all with disabled access. This is the first professionally equipped dance studio within the local area.

Our purpose built dance studio. Bridgnorth, Shropshire.

All classes at Severn Valley School of Dance are taught by experienced Dance Teachers. Our teachers consider each child as an individual and therefore, are aware of their physical progress, emotional, cognitive and social development, guiding the students to develop their skills and confidence in their own time.

We have an excellent reputation for providing friendly and fun dance classes for all ages, whether for a hobby or in preparation for a career in dance, and we hold biannual shows for all the students to enjoy and participate in, a great experience for everyone.

In all our classes we aim to promote confidence, self discipline, belief, persistence and help to instil an understanding of the importance of physical activity for a healthy lifestyle and a continued sense of wellbeing for all our students.

We have consistently outstanding Examination results for exams taken with the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance) and the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance).

Examinations can be taken from the age of 5 years old, but are not compulsory.

Both Male and Female students have gone on to continue their training at some of the most highly respected vocational dance colleges in the country, including Laine Theatre Arts and the Royal Ballet School, and others are presently fulfilling successful careers in the world of dance.

Always remember Dance is for Life… because dance is so much more than an art form, to dance gives you a self-confidence and a belief, that when under pressure, at any stage in day to day life, a job/university interview, an essay deadline, a presentation in front of work colleagues or peers you’re dance classes can carry you through whatever the circumstances may be.
